Hi! I’m Jessie Stephenson. I know choosing the best tutor for your child is very important, so here’s some information about me to help you make your decision!

Teaching Credentials

• I graduated from BYU with a degree in Elementary Education.
• I taught fourth grade for 2 years, and stopped after the birth of my son, Caleb.
• I have been teaching virtual classes for Tech Trep Academy for 2 years
• My teaching license is still valid, and I can give you a copy upon request.
• Licensed to tutor in Utah and Idaho

Tutoring Philosophy

• My second year of teaching was at a “Leader in Me” school. There, I learned the importance of helping students make and meet their own goals! This is a key to my tutoring philosophy. I believe that if students know the goals they are trying to meet and have a say in their goals, they are much more likely to achieve them! In tutoring sessions with me, your student will have clear objectives that they know, I know, and you know!
• I also spent a lot of time integrating technology into the classroom. I love to use technology when possible. If your student learns well with technology, I will plan to integrate it as best as we can.
• I have a history with singing, dancing, acting, and music. If your student learns well using the arts, we will definitely incorporate it into your sessions!

Fun Facts:

• I have two boys, Caleb and Landon, ages 4 and (almost) 2
• I have two puppies, Bailey and Maya.
• I love to be on stage and have performed in several productions at the Scera Center for the Arts!
• Before I taught 4th grade, I taught dance classes and piano lessons!
• Reading is one of my favorite things, and this year I have a goal to read 75 books!
