I can tutor reading, writing, and math generally. If there are specific tests or quizzes that your child needs help with in other areas, I can also assist with that.

I can provide necessary materials. If there are specific resources you would like me to use, I am happy to do so. Otherwise, I will use my own materials. Having access to a library card for reading tutoring will also be useful, but is not required.

I am happy to tutor at my home, your home, or another location of your choosing. If I am traveling to your house or another location, there will be a small additional fee. (see “What are your rates?”). If you decide to do tutoring in your home or another location, I just require a quiet place with minimal disruptions and a table or desk with chairs.

All sessions are completely customized to fit the needs of your child. During our first session, I will take the time to learn about your child’s strengths, weaknesses and learning styles. They will be given an assessment so I can better understand what level they are at. This information will guide the rest of our tutoring sessions. Each session after that, your child and I will be working on their deficient areas in the ways they learn best. Any other questions, concerns or requests can be addressed as we go.

Yes! I graduated with a degree in elementary education from Brigham Young University and taught fourth grade for two years. I currently teach virtual classes for Tech Trep Academy (for the last 2 years). My teaching license is still valid as well.

Sure! I do have references, but so as to respect their time, I will only give their information upon request by serious applicants.

My schedule is very flexible! For the summer, I would prefer to tutor weekdays before 5 pm, but I can make other times work as well.

Session frequency will vary depending on your child’s goals and needs. If your child just needs extra support to stay caught up, I recommend 1 weekly session. If your child is behind grade level in a subject area, 2 or 3 weekly sessions would be best. We can discuss this more during our consultation and adjust as needed.

This also varies depending on your student. For grades K-3, I recommend 30-45 minute sessions. For grades 4-6, I recommend 45-60 minute sessions. For grades 6+, 60 minute sessions are ideal.

Most students will have sessions at the same time each week. This is flexible, can be changed as needed, and will be discussed in our initial consultation.

My job at Tech Trep will resume in the school year, so scheduling becomes more complicated. This doesn't mean that I can't continue tutoring necessarily, but my availability will be more limited. As the summer ends, we can discuss tutoring going forward on a case by case basis.

Rates are based on two main factors: subject and duration. I do charge more for math tutoring because it does require more preparation on my part, especially if your student requires weekly assignments to continue progression. 60 minute sessions: Reading/Writing: $25 Math: $28 45 minute sessions: Reading/Writing: $19 Math: $22 30 minute sessions: Reading/Writing: $15 Math: $18 Travel Expenses: Less than 10 minute travel from Vineyard, UT: +$2 per session 10-20 minute travel from Vineyard: +$4 per session 20+ minute travel from Vineyard: +$6 per session

For now, payment can be done via cash, check, or Venmo. Payment is due before each session. Monthly prepayments are also accepted.

I do know that things happen and sometimes sessions need to be cancelled, but I also do ask that you let me know as soon as possible about cancellations. Sessions cancelled prior to 24 hours before the session will not be charged. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice must be paid in full. Excessive cancellations may be reason for ending tutoring services.

Yes! You can receive 20% off for any additional children enrolled in tutoring services, as long as the sessions take place sequentially.
